Scripture Layout-Nature

This layout was created for the DIVAS MANSION TOUR BLOG HOP!!!. over at creative scrapbooking divas this past weekend.  The theme was Scripture-Nature inspired.  The photo was taken last spring during a trip to the coast.

The scripture reads: Song of Solomon 2-12
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.

PAPER FLOWER POWER

I love making PAPER FLOWERS because you can get to many different looks just by changing the shape or color.  This flower was made by cutting out the same flower in 9 different sizes. I used the flower found on Cricut Cartridge-Forever Young, page 70, Flower7.  Cut each flower once in the following sizes inch increments: 3, 2 3/4, 2 1/2, 2 1/4, 2, 1 3/4, 1 1/2, 1 1/4 and 1 inch.  The paper I used was from K&Company, Confetti.  Once the flowers have been cut out place a whole in the center of each flower large enough to accommodate a brad that will be used to attach all the petals.   Next, lay your flower out and lightly spray with water to breakdown the paper so it will be more manageable. You made need to spray the front and back depending on the paper used.  While the paper is still damp start adding the smallest flower to the brad (while attaching each flower gather it up towards the brad) until all flower petals have been added.  Secure your brad, and give the whole flower a big scrunch, then slowly start pulling the petal back out from the center.

Banner for My Craft Room

I've been wanting to do a banner for awhile now, and I finally had the time during this past weekend during National Scapbooking Day, I think it turned out pretty cute, I'm not sure if I done with it yet.  I still think it needs a little something, what do you think, any ideas?  Leave a comment with your suggestion, I would love to hear your ideas.

Special Member of Our Family

Our wonderful dog "Molly" has been apart of our family now for 14 years, we think of her as one of our kids too.  She brings so much joy and fun to our family that we just can't imagine not having her around.  I hope you like the layout spotlighting her.
